Leadership and Volunteer Opportunities at the Austin Board of Realtors (ABoR)

At the Austin Board of Realtors, members have access to a variety of leadership roles and volunteer opportunities. At the top of these leadership opportunities is the ABoR Board of Directors, where members can take an active role in shaping the future of the organization and the real estate industry in Austin. 


ABoR Committees

ABoR also offers fourteen different committees, each providing members with the chance to serve, grow professionally, and give back to the community. These committees offer open positions and host volunteer events tied to their specific focus. The committees available include:

- ABoR Candidate Interview Panel

- ABoR Foundation Advisory Group

- ABoR Foundation Ambassadors Group

- Audit Committee

- Budget Committee

- Diversity Committee

- Global Advisory Group

- Global Ambassadors

- Industry Award Committee

- Legislative Management Team

- MLS Compliance Committee

- Policy Teams

- TREPAC Committee

- Vetting Committee

Each committee focuses on a unique aspect of real estate, such as budgeting, diversity, global outreach, policy, and more. By becoming a part of a committee you will gain access to volunteer events catered toward those perspective field.


ABoR Groups

In addition to these committees, ABoR offers additional volunteer leadership roles through groups like the Advocacy Group, the ABoR Foundation, and ABoR Global, which promote charity, community outreach, and international business opportunities.


Leadership Opportunities

To be in a leadership position you must become part of the board for either the Advocacy Group, the ABoR Foundation, or the ABoR Global Group. Becoming a member of the ABoR board of directors is also an option. 


ABoR's Strategic Partners:

- Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA): Promotes sustainable homeownership in the Asian American community, representing a diverse range of real estate and housing professionals.

-Austin Black Real Estate Professionals (AAREB): Provides scholarships, training, and homeownership assistance to support low-to-moderate-income individuals in the Austin community.

-LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance: Advocates for the LGBTQ+ community in real estate and housing policy, focusing on their specific needs and rights.

-National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP): Empowers real estate professionals to increase sustainable Hispanic homeownership.

-National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM): Supports residential property managers with resources for growth and professional development.

-Women’s Council of REALTORS® (WCR): A network advancing women as business leaders in real estate and local communities in Central Texas.

ABoR is also connected with Affiliate partnership groups, like the Young Professional Network (YPN), which also offer opportunities for members to network and develop leadership skills, even though they are not officially created by ABoR.
